Ames, IA (October 17) — Iowa State University Research Park (ISURP) is proud to announce seven tenant companies recently named as 2023 Prometheus Award finalists. The Technology Association of Iowa’s Prometheus Awards, presented by UHY, unite Iowa innovators and leaders across the state in the fields of technology, business, education and government to celebrate the year’s most momentous achievements. Award Winners will be announced at the Prometheus Awards ceremony on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Downtown Des Moines.

The Prometheus Awards brings together technology pioneers, industry leaders, educators, and government representatives to honor the year’s most remarkable achievements and successes throughout Iowa’s tech industry.

We are pleased to highlight the following tenants and partners as 2023 finalists:

2023 Creative Technology Solution of the Year Finalist and 2023 Manufacturing Technology Company of the Year Finalist – Sabanto Inc.

Sabanto works to create simple, safe, and cost effective technologies that enable the future of agriculture. Sabanto is a farming-as-a-service performing row-crop field operations using low-cost autonomous systems.

2023 Startup Technology Company of the Year Finalist – SoyLei Innovations, LLC

SoyLei was established in 2020 with the goal of commercializing green technologies developed at Iowa State University. These technologies make use of renewable resources, such as soybean oil, to substitute products in different industries. More specifically, SoyLei has developed a family of soybean oil-based additives that, when combined with an asphalt mix, reverse common aging effects and rejuvenate the materials.

2023 IT Service Provider Technology Company of the Year Finalist – 
Iowa State University Digital Ag Innovation Lab

The Digital Ag Innovation Lab (DAIL) team works to advance ag tech innovations and foster commercialization of new technologies in the ag sector by working with industry partners

DAIL is among the most productive research teams in Iowa State history. They hold more than 70 patents and tech transfer outcomes and have 32 technologies sold worldwide that contain their intellectual property.

2023 Manufacturing Technology Company of the Year Finalist – Pella Corporation

Pella Corporation is a privately held window and door manufacturing company headquartered in Pella, Iowa, and with manufacturing and sales operations in a number of locations in the United States. The company was founded in 1925 with the advent of the Rolscreen, and has since become one of the largest window manufacturers in the United States. The Pella Corp office at the Iowa State University Research Park serves as a location for senior design projects, student recruitment, and collaboration between students and Pella employees.

2023 Manufacturing Technology Company of the Year Finalist – Vermeer Corporation

Vermeer Corporation makes a real impact on the way important work gets done through the design, manufacture and support of high-quality industrial and agricultural equipment. The Vermeer Applied Technology Hub (VATH) at ISURP focuses on collaboration, research and development projects, and talent recruitment.  

2023 Ag Tech & Bio Tech Company of the Year Finalist – Distynct

Distynct connects swine producers to critical barn level information by enabling precision livestock farming and management of livestock facilities. Their innovative solutions bring
reliable connectivity to rural swine facilities and establish a foundation to connect devices, collect data, and turn that data into actionable insights for the enterprise.

2023 Ag Tech & Bio Tech Company of the Year Finalist – GlobalVetLink

The rules surrounding animal health and movement are complex and ever-changing. That’s why GlobalVetLink (GVL) was created. Veterinary clinics using GVL’s intelligent online regulatory compliance platform are able to better manage the complexities involved with animal health and movement, resulting in improved compliance accuracy and reduced time spent on administration. GlobalVetLink is not a current tenant however was founded at the Iowa State Research Park.
