Parametric Studio Inc. is an Ed-Tech company specializing in engineering-centric and project-based STEM games, software, kits and curricula for PreK-12+. Parametric combines real tools with approachable interfaces, gaming, educational content, and hands on prototyping to create novel STEM solutions for the classroom, camps, or for home. The company’s first products for K-12 space DESCARTES (Grades 3-6), EDISON (Grades 6-9), and DAVinCI (Grades 9-12+) are standards-based tools that allow users to design, analyze, simulate, and prototype/3-D print projects including gliders, boats, submersibles, bridges, RC cars, rockets, and more. Unlike typical educational sims and games in the market our analysis and simulation engine are based on real physics and capable computational engineering tools. In the last two years the company has received a $100,000 Demo Fund award through Iowa Economic Development Authority, and over $2,000,000 in SBIR funding from the US Dept. of Education and National Science Foundation. The company is also closely working with several informal youth organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, and 4-H to develop and deliver custom STEM solutions for youth nationwide.
