Requesting Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses
Research Park companies may request IP addresses via email to [email protected] and supplying the information in the format listed below. Please note that new Research Park IP requests take about 48 hours to process.
Owner: Contact person's name, email, and phone number
Department: Full company name
Room: Suite or room number
Building: Research Park 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, EDCF, or Southern Hills Drive Facility
Jack-ID: Jack-ID number
System Type: Firewall, wireless router, etc.
MAC Address: (Optional) If your company wants to configure devices to use DHCP, a MAC Address is required. Otherwise, the IP address must be manually configured in your device settings.
Cybersecurity note: All addresses assigned are public IPs, open to the Internet. Your company is responsible for securing/hardening all devices using a public IP. Devices that are intended to be connected directly to the internet include wireless routers and firewall appliances. Public IPs are not appropriate for non-hardened devices such as personal computers and printers.
Setting Up Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses
Each router of firewall appliance has a different procedure for configuring its IP settings. Please consult the documentation for your particular appliance for instructions.
The Following information will need to be statically configured for your device's WAN port:
Assigned by ITS following submission of this ticket:
- IP Address
- Subnet mask
- Gateway address
DNS Servers
- IPv4: 129.186.140.200, 129.186.142.200
- IPv6: 2610:130:100:3::200, 2610:130:100:4::200
If you would like these settings to be automatically configured by DHCP, please include the MAC address of your router's WAN port in the ticket and configure your system to use DHCP for the WAN port.
