PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of a cook is to prepare food for employees at TMC Transportation’s cafeterias and assist in all aspects a food service operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare food items by adhering to all recipe standards

Maintain a safe working environment by using proper food handling and food safety guidelines. This includes maintaining compliance with City, County, State, and Federal food safety regulations and codes

Provide excellent customer service

Perform daily tasks such as: line set up, food prep, cooking, clean-up, and cash handling

Supervise food service workers in the absence of the Food Service Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience in a food service operation, possess knowledge on the proper use of food service equipment

Ability to multi-task and possess strong problem-solving skills
-
Excellent oral and written communication

Be knowledgeable on food and safety regulations, be able to follow instructions

Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations, handle cash transactions accurately

Must be able to lift 20lbs and stand for long periods of time

Able to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, employees, supervisors, guests, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
