The Community Academy is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to connect young people to our community through meaningful endeavors. TCA strives to transform education in Iowa by incubating K-12 educational innovations that can be implemented in communities across Iowa. TCA has offered summer programming since 2018 and expanded to engage youth with our community throughout the year since 2022. Our current collaborations include: the City of Ames to grow native plants for projects throughout Ames, and Story County Conservation to monitor plant and animal species the Tedesco Environmental Learning Corridor (TELC).
The Community Academy is a Story County ASSET agency, a United Way Partner agency, a member of the Ames Chamber of Commerce, and a member of Discover Ames.
