The Warehouse Production Technician position is available at our company Animal Health facility in Ames, Iowa.  The Ames facility is expanding operations to manufacture vaccines for large and companion animals. The site leverages its dynamic, innovative team and a novel technology platform for the production of RNA-based vaccines.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform warehousing tasks to support the production of veterinary biologicals according to strict government and company imposed guidelines.  Assists in all areas of the warehousing of RNA Particle (RP) Vaccine products manufactured in a USDA licensed facility.

Work activities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, having sufficient knowledge of all equipment used by the department and any safety requirements during its operation.
  • Maintaining the workplace and warehouse in a neat, clean and orderly condition, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Performing basic warehousing and material handling activities:  unloading trucks, receiving parts in SAP, material movements, order fulfillment, cycle counts and inventory error investigations.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Picking/putting away product
  • Preparing materials for shipping
  • Receiving and issuing materials from inventory
  • Operating forklift and pallet jack
  • Working with dry ice and/or liquid nitrogen
  • Perform other duties as required

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Safety-conscious
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be proficient in basic PC operation
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience working in a warehousing environment
  • Experience using ERP system/SAP preferred
  • Experience following approved protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Experience maintaining inventory control
  • Good time management skills
