This position will be located at the ISU Research Park at Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames, Iowa.


The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

Your Responsibilities


As a Part-Time Student-Cloud Software Engineer for Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) in Ames, Iowa, you will perform software development for John Deere AWS and Azure Cloud Platform. In addition you will:


  • Implement solutions to improve cost, quality and performance of software applications
  • Develop recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by technical leads before implementation.
  • Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to collect requirements, describe software product features and technical designs
  • Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation

What Skills You Need


  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering; others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of May 2023 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
