Senior Learning and Development Specialist


The position is responsible for the day-to-day practices and programs that ensure Workiva employees, specifically new hires, are developing and growing in ways that increase employee engagement and retention, performance, job satisfaction, and contribute to the growth and success of the company.

 

This position partners closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) to manage and facilitate new hire orientation, onboarding, and other learning and development programs that upskill our workforce and support organizational needs.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Partners with key stakeholders and team members to re-design and deliver corporate and functional onboarding programs that support a hybrid working environment and enable employees to ramp up quickly and effectively
  • Supports all aspects of new hire orientation, including design, development, facilitation/ delivery, communication, measurement, and overall effectiveness
  • Assists in the development of assessments of individual and organizational needs, implements and facilitates learning programs and solutions in order to create a high performance, engaged workforce and achieve the overall business strategy
  • Supports the delivery of career development programs across the company to help guide employees on ways to develop and navigate their careers
  • Leverages new and existing systems, adult learning & onboarding best practices, tools, and resources to effectively measure employee impact, satisfaction, and program success
  • Provides data-driven insights on the overall engagement, satisfaction, and effectiveness of learning solutions
  • Encourages positive relations between employees and their managers, and promotes open and effective employee communication
  • Supports our company values, DEIB practices and philosophy to deliver added value to employees
  • Models Workiva’s leadership principles, effective teamwork, and collaboration to drive the company’s success

 

What You’ll Need

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience with developing and implementing new hire orientation, onboarding learning strategies and/or curriculum in a fast-paced, high-growth company that is geographically dispersed
  • Experience owning onboarding initiatives in a high-growth organization preferred
  • Up to 25% per month (may fluctuate as business needs evolve)
  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
