About Us
At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking an Seeds Import/Export Analyst for the Ames, IA location.
You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
• Responsible for all import and export logistics execution activities in and partnering with Syngenta’s logistics providers, while ensuring compliance.
Accountabilities 
• Coordinate and create export documents to facilitate international seed movements or other items as requested
o Ensure documents meet all trade and compliance requirements
o Including but not limited to: Proforma invoices, commercial invoices, packing lists, GMO Annex Forms, Certificates of Origin
• Execute winter production seed movements from partners in South America to North America and Europe – including SAP transactions within the ERP
• Knowledge of importation requirements including trade agreements and phytosanitary requirements for seeds
• Request and process applications for phytosanitary certificates for all Production & Supply seed shipments leaving the US
o Understanding of import permits, field inspection reports and seed health testing reports to ensure requirements for importation are being met
• Ensure coordination with other departments like Planning, Production, Regional Logistics, Trade Compliance, and Finance
• Monitor freight budgets for international shipments including purchase order creation, receive and reconcile invoices
• Maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor international freight movements, and on-time performance by freight providers
• Develop and maintain a system for storing field inspection reports and lab seed health testing reports
• Monitor global logistics environment and rates to ensure Syngenta is meeting or exceeding industry standards
• Manage OECD certification needs for winter production including OECD list additions, multiplication agreements, and other information as required by importing countries
• Serve as contact person for US seed certification agencies assisting as needed with issues surrounding certification of seed
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in agriculture, supply chain, business, or logistics
• 5+ years of work experiences
o International experience with seed industry experience preferred
o Multiple years of experience in logistics with seeds industry preferred
• Excellent communications and relationship building skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software systems, SAP experience preferred
• Ability to workdays, evenings, and weekends during business-critical times
• Individual must be authorized to work in the United States for Syngenta without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
