Job Description:
As the Prototype Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Building and testing electrical harnesses for Sabanto’s autonomy systems
- Fabricating and assembling metal prototype parts and systems for Sabanto’s autonomy systems
- Sub-assembling components of Sabanto’s autonomy kits, prior to shipment
- Inspecting inventory that has been received from our suppliers
- Maintaining Sabanto’s pickup trucks and trailers
Job Location:
- Sabanto’s office (in Ames, IA) and equipment shop (in Nevada, IA)
- Working remotely is not available for this position
Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree in electronics repair/building, relevant military experience, or 3+ years of automotive repair or mechanical assembling
- Comfortable working closely with farm equipment, application engineers, and software developers
- Knowledge of, and experience safely working with welding and steel fabrication tools and electronics repair tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed and ability to think methodically to complete projects without all details readily available
- Comfortable working around loud tools and machinery
- Willing and able to perform hands-on tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with agriculture or construction equipment, precision-agriculture devices and controllers
