Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide necessary cost engineering support and expert advice to the Manager of Project Controls, including monitoring, trending, and reporting capital project cost performance
  • Support the development of the project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) from the cost estimate
  • Develop the monthly cash flow forecast, including plan, actual, and forecast curves
  • Develop the monthly contingency drawdown curve, including plan, actual and forecast
  • Develop and report monthly KPI’s to efficiently communicate cost performance to senior management
  • Validate material and labor rates against industry and company benchmarks
  • Validate unit rate of placement/productivity against industry and company benchmarks
  • Monitor, control and analyze the project cost information, identify variances and bring these to the attention of the Project Controls Manager with possible alternatives
  • Forecast and continually track variable project costs from budget creation to closeout of project
  • Develop and maintain budgets for a project, including compiling vendor and subcontractor estimates into the master project cost estimate by code of account
  • Analyze cost variance against the project budget and recommend corrective actions
  • Administer program cost control systems including entering, updating and maintaining databases
  • Assist in managing/performing cost segregation and fixed asset studies from start to finish
  • Perform detailed cost analysis
  • Provide support / input to the development of the Project Controls Management Plan
  • Facilitate global Change Management process and validate pricing of subcontractor change requests

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance or related discipline preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, familiar with special estimating software, Microsoft Power BI, and ERP accounting software would be a plus
  • 10+ years of cost control experience with large construction projects
