Position Overview:

Genvax Technologies seeks a full-time Cell Culture Laboratory Technician to help perform directed research and vaccine development. Must have general laboratory knowledge such as aseptic technique, pipetting, and experimental design. Experience with cell culture, media preparation, cell isolation, or other molecular biology techniques is preferred. This is a unique opportunity to work in the early stages of a startup company.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain cell lines or grow and culture new cell lines obtained from outside suppliers
  • Assist in optimizing in vitro experiments including transfection of cultured cells
  • Maintain detailed experimental records, reports and inventories in electronic notebook
  • Follow existing SOPs, processes, procedures, and systems to independently conduct experiments
  • Deliver results in fast changing business and regulatory environments
  • Contribute to product, process, or other related improvements
  • General lab duties, including ordering, inventory, and management of reagents
  • Perform investigations on product and process defects to identify root cause and implement corrective/preventative action (CAPA)
  • All other tasks as needed by the Company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Biotechnology, Biology or related field
  • 1 to 2 years experience within a laboratory setting preferred (internships and jobs during school count)
  • General laboratory knowledge such as aseptic techniques, pipetting, and experimental design and planning
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Experience with electronic notebook or other data tracking software
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skill sets quickly
  • Basic computer skills required
