Laboratory Intern Position at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health

Laboratory Intern Position at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health

We are looking for an immediate addition to our team of Student Lab Technicians. The ideal candidate
will be a student at Iowa State University studying a biological science, available to work 10-20h/week
during the semester, and up to 40h/wk during the summer. Primary responsibilities include:
cleaning/sterilizing glassware, cleaning/maintaining lab equipment, sterilization of labware, handling
and decontamination of biohazardous waste, stocking supplies in the lab, making reagents, and
maintaining all lab spaces.
Our goal is to hire a candidate that is hard working, goal-oriented, and capable of completing tasks on
his/her own after a one-month training period. Some experience with lab techniques is preferred, but
we are willing to consider candidates who have less experience, but have strong work ethic and learn
quickly.
There may be opportunities for doing project related work on early animal vaccine research for several
viral and bacterial pathogens. If candidates are available to stay for 20-40hr/week during the summer,
project related work is guaranteed.
Please bring a proposed work schedule to the interview. We are asking for 10-20h/week, at least
1.5h/shift (preferably more). Working hours are Mon-Fri between 7am-6pm. Because we are located at
the ISU Research Park, avoid scheduling more than 1 shift per day. Allow at least 15-30 min to get here
from campus, longer if using CyRide as transportation.
Those with an interest in only a summer internship need not apply – our candidates MUST work during
the schoolyear.
Interested applicants should send their resumes to Austin Coulter
