McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for an Department Manager for its South Ames office. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead an outstanding group of caring professionals in our South Ames Sports Medicine/Family Medicine Departments. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include: Provide direct patient care through nurse visits, complete departmental In Basket tasks within the electronic health record, and assist clinical staff in rooming patients and other daily tasks needed. Develop departmental policies and procedures. Assures adherence to clinic-wide policies. Work with site physicians for effective and efficient delivery of health care services. Oversee staff scheduling, daily operations of the clinic, patient relations, patient scheduling, telephone calls, filling in for staff absences.

Education

  • Graduate of accredited program for Medical Assistants.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Certification/License

  • Certification or registration from an approved certifying organization for Medical Assistants (AAMA, ARMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NHA).
  • Possession of State Practical Nurse license.
  • Possession of State Registered Nurse license.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse.

Days: Monday – Friday. Occasional (quarterly) 7:00 AM meetings

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Experience

  • 1 year working in a physician’s clinic.
  • 1 year management experience preferred.
