This position is responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of all aspects of the accounting functions which include general ledger accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable and disbursements, and cash management.
Coordinate monthly accounting and general ledger close activities to successfully meet internal and external deadlines.
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and monthly financial packages. Responsible for Fixed Assets and Project Accounting Sub-ledger activities and reconciliations (ASCs 350, 360, etc.)
Responsible for accounting for Leases (ASC 842).
Responsible for ARO (Asset Retirement Obligation) Accounting aspects (ASC 410-20).
Review disbursements for accuracy, approvals, and proper documentation.
Prepare and/or review and approve journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with department policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations. Assist with internal and external financial statement audits.
Identify opportunities to enhance existing business processes to develop new analyses/reports to facilitate operational and financial planning and decision making.
Develop processes and business partner relationships with internal and external groups that will improve the flow of financial information within the company.
Keep current with updates to the industry and regulatory environments.
Liaise with financial system software administrators and provide system support to end users. Anticipated travel up to 5%. Special projects as needed and other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Master of Accountancy or MBA preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Minimum five or more years related business experience required; ten or more years preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 F&O accounting system preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel experience required.
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) required.
Detail-oriented, strong analytical skills, highly motivated and team-oriented individual.
Flexible to work additional hours during peak periods.
Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
