Position Overview:
Genvax Technologies seeks a full-time Laboratory Technician specializing in producing saRNA used to manufacture cutting-edge livestock vaccines. The Technician will be trained by Genvax’s industry-leading experts to develop skills such as plasmid DNA propagation, molecular cloning, and other proprietary processes. This is a production position focused on vaccine manufacturing. This is a unique opportunity to work in the early stages of a startup company and become an integral member of our team.
Requirements
Essential Job Functions:
- Work diligently to become proficient in making high-quality saRNA
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Plasmid DNA propagation
- Molecular cloning
- In vitro transcription
- Quality control testing
- Troubleshoot deviations and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Follow existing processes, protocols, and systems to ensure quality product in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed manufacturing batch records, reports, and inventories in an electronic lab notebook
- Collaborate with Regulatory and Quality Assurance to ensure that all products meet safety and efficacy standards.
- Consistently deliver results in fast-paced environment
- Contribute to product, process, or other related improvements
- Assist in other manufacturing processes as needed
- General lab duties, including ordering, inventory, and management of reagents
- All other tasks as needed by the Company
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Experience with molecular biology techniques, plasmid production, in vitro transcription, or PCR is an advantage
- Experience in a pharmaceutical or biological industries manufacturing role under USDA or FDA regulations is an advantage
- Experience with electronic notebook or other data tracking software
- Demonstrated ability to learn and learn quickly
- General laboratory knowledge such as pipetting, experimental design, and planning
- Basic computer skills required
