The Iowa State University Extension Geospatial Technology Program is committed to the continuing education and professional development of Iowa's citizens. The program offers a series of hands-on short courses in geographic information systems. These courses are held at the GIS Graduate Laboratory, located in Room 526 College of Design building on the Iowa State University campus. Customized training is also available at the campus site and through the GIS Mobile Lab for on-site training. The courses and applications deal with a broad range of training from basic GIS skills to using GIS applications for community planning, 3-D modeling, conservation, transportation, internet mapping, recreation, socio-economic areas, and agriculture.
