Partnerships/Collaborations

ISU Research Park is strategically located in the Midwest’s research hub, with several high-profile government labs and testing centers within 10 miles. By partnering with external agencies like these, our tenants are able to leverage subject-matter experts and trusted third-party findings in their own scientific and commercial pursuits.

ISU Research Park’s established collaboration network allows you to simplify your business model. Exchange ideas. Build on results. Turn a profit.

Examples of collaboration opportunities include:

  • USDA Animal Disease Center: The largest federal animal disease center in the U.S. conducting research to solve animal health and food safety problems faced by livestock producers and the public.
  • New Century Farm: An integrated biomass production, processing and utilization facility to research sustainable production, harvesting, transportation and storage of biomass to be used for biofuels and bioproducts.
  • Center for Transporation Research and Education (CTRE): CTRE performs transportation research for public and private agencies and companies; manages its own education program for transportation students; and conducts local, regional and national transportation services and continuing education programs.
  • Ames Lab: Research facility of the U.S. Department of Energy run by Iowa State University. The Ames Laboratory seeks solutions to energy-related problems through the exploration of chemical, engineering, materials, mathematical and physical sciences.

Iowa Start up Alliance

Six Iowa coworking and incubator organizations supporting startups and entrepreneurs today announced the Iowa Startup Alliance, a statewide cooperative agreement that allows residents of the incubators and coworking spaces within Iowa the ability to share the facilities and resources of peer organizations within the state. The arrangement aims to provide entrepreneurs a network of locations they can use when traveling within Iowa for customer or investor meetings, networking events and other functions.

Participating entrepreneurs and startups need only to reach out to the receiving facility in advance of their visit to arrange for space and resources. The duration, resources and space will vary from location to location, but all the host organizations promise that guests can depend on a warm welcome and the infrastructure they need to hit the ground running.

The six organizations include: Foundry Coworking (Des Moines), Start Up City Des Moines, Veel Hoeden (Pella), ISU Research Park (Ames), UNI Innovation Incubator/Purple Cat Cowork (Cedar Falls), and Vault Coworking and Collaboration Space (Cedar Rapids)
