Facilities

ISU Research Park provides flexible workspace for science- and technology-based interests with office suites, single-use buildings and build-to-suit lots. The Park campus also features technology and wet-lab incubators, testing labs and resource centers dedicated to business success, all available on an as-needed basis.

Multi-tenant Buildings

ISU Research Park’s multi-tenant buildings and office suites allow you to grow your business without investing critical funds toward the workspace. Spaces currently range from 500-21,000 square feet. We oversee the multi-tenant facilities and handle property maintenance/repair when needed. The Park may also assist in telecommunications, space modifications or health and safety issues. Conference rooms are also available for checkout.

Single-Use Buildings / Lots

For those businesses that require a standalone building, you may choose to construct your own facility within the ISU Research Park. When applicable, parcel owners may apply for and receive a research facility tax exemption. Lots are available for sale or for lease. Available lots range in size from 2.65-8.53 acres.

Biotech Wet-lab Incubator

ISU Research Park houses an 8,000 sq. ft. wet-lab incubator facility. The incubation facility provides laboratory space for the growth and development of start-up, spin-off and established biotechnology companies. Features include:

• Existing lab space sizes from 300-2,000 square feet
• Fume hood, casework, sinks, eyewashes, purified water, gas, vacuum and air
• Shared autoclave, centrifuge, freezer, tissue culture hoods, conferencing and breakroom
• Custom-designed labs also available

Technology Incubator (ISIS)

The Technology Incubator, also known as Iowa State Innovation System (ISIS), identifies early-stage, tech-based concepts and businesses and aids in economic development and technology transfer. ISIS provides an environment for growth by helping develop viable business plans and secure financial backing.

To date, ISIS has supported over 80 start-up companies. To qualify, businesses must meet the following criteria:

• Iowa Company formed under Iowa law
• In the pre-venture capital stage of development
• Show potential for growth and development as an Iowa company
• Ability to pay for ISIS services at the rates required
• Existence of a plan for the first several months of operations
• Based on a technology
• Related to ISU research and/or research services

ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship

The Pappajohn Center provides a connection between ISU resources and aspiring entrepreneurs primarily in the technology sector. Through business education, training and assistance, as well as networking leads, the Pappajohn Center helps shorten the transition from entrepreneur to established enterprise.

Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

The Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Pappajohn Center, provides mentorship for small businesses looking to build a long-term growth strategy. Companies in the Research Park and the surrounding area can take advantage of free and low-cost counseling and training, workshops and a support network of other small business owners.

Nutrition and Wellness Research Center (NWRC)

The Nutrition and Wellness Research Center located in the ISU Research Park offers a comprehensive range of multidisciplinary activities, including clinical studies, community-based interventions and basic laboratory research.
