Your Responsibilities

The John Deere Technology Innovation Center in Ames (JDTIC-Ames), located at Research Park on the Iowa State University campus, is seeking a qualified graduate student researcher to join our team. This role will consist of performing data exploration and analysis as well as statistical support for ongoing research projects.  This is a full-time summer position (40 hrs/week), part-time semester position (15-20 hours/week). All work will be performed at JDTIC in Research Park.

  • Conduct statistical data analysis on diverse data sources
  • Provide feedback on experimental design
  • Engage in active research projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What It Takes

  • Proficient in Python or R
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Pursuing graduate degree in quantitative discipline
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at Iowa State University
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • 16 – 20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Course work/experience with geospatial analysis
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to document and communicate results
  • Being able to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Good communication skills and enthusiasm to learn new technologies
