LMS Administrator


The Learning Management Systems Administrator provides first-class support of Workiva’s customer-facing learning management system (LMS). This position is responsible for the support, design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of the learning platform and assets. The Learning Management System Administrator is the primary system administrator for Workiva’s customer-facing LMS and responds to all new feature releases from the vendor. This also includes direct involvement with integration and use of tools and software integrated with the LMS. Current processes and data analytics from the LMS will be gathered and used to make recommendations for improvements which include working with multiple departments and business units on the implementation of new services, modules, and integrations that involve the LMS. Work is performed under the supervision of the Sr. Education Service Program Manager and Director of Customer Education.

Responsibilities:

General:

  • Manages day-to-day LMS needs:  review, testing, and implementation of LMS updates and enhancements, reporting requests, maintains and updates learning dashboard and metrics, and builds ad hoc reports as needed, and supports successful LMS system migrations, integrations, and change management together with the IT Software Administrator.
  • Define and revises document process, protocol, guidelines and procedures for content maintenance schedule. Generate and interpret system reports, generalizes findings and makes recommendations for process and utilization improvements.
  • Builds and analyzes custom reports using internal tools.
  • Coordinates and continuously improves LMS admin processes and activities cross-functionally to create the best possible learning experience for the users.
  • Supports the internal facing LMS Administrator and collaborates with them to generate best practices.

Course and User Management:

  • Creates user logins as needed and assign appropriate access. Manages roles, securities, and permissions. Supports CPE issuance to customers and prospects.
  • Publishes courses and ensures those courses are appropriately cataloged and learners have the proper access. Manages the overall course structure and sets up course programs based on specifications from the instructional designer. Monitors courses for trends.  Manages the course asset library. Manages course enrollment progress tracking.
  • Analyzes course reporting data and recommends a strategic direction to management.

Troubleshooting:

  • Provides troubleshooting assistance and support for users regarding logging in to the LMS and accessing courses. Resolves issues relating to system functionality in a timely manner
  • Interaction with LMS vendor. Reviews and monitors system performance.

Data Analytics:

  • Knowledge of report creation systems.
  • Manages LMS reporting requests, maintains and updates learning dashboard and metrics, and builds ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Builds and analyzes custom reports using internal tools.
  • Generates and interprets system reports, generalizes findings and makes recommendations for process and utilization improvements.
  • Proactively analyzes data to identify trends and uses this information to improve the way we deliver our learning and development programs.

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years experience in LMS administration
  • B.A./B.S. degree in business administration, computer information systems, educational technology or instructional design strongly preferred

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Less than 10% travel
