Job Description:
Vertex Software is actively searching for an IT Coordinator to help grow and solidify our technology organization. The environment is fast paced, well-architected, and scaling quickly. We are a hands-on company, and this will be a hands-on position. This individual will be responsible for fielding and fulfilling help desk requests and projects to support an emerging and ever evolving team. Applicants must display excellent communication skills, think quickly on their feet, investigate how things work under the hood to resolve issues, manage all employee questions, and support teammates with professionalism and personalism while having a can-do attitude to ensure the organization’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately record, update, document, and respond to requests using the service desk system
  • Resolve incidents with different types of company software, hardware, printers, copiers, and scanners
  • Knowledge of desktop software and ability to navigate through web-based applications; Macintosh & Windows troubleshooting is highly preferred
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents in the Macintosh & Windows operating environment across a range of software applications
  • Work independently or as part of a team on integrating solutions to help improve organization and end-user workflows, including updating company approved software and equipment
  • Ensure proper functioning of company’s information processing system
  • Help business operations utilize software and hardware configurations to improve efficiency and train end-users to utilize or integrate new technology programs into their daily work, both through in-person and multimedia communication
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in software and technology for our industry
  • Oversee employees or contractors installing and repairing hardware and software
  • Develop strategies for improving customer services relating to technology services
  • Gather and coordinate content for organization’s Intranet site
  • Apply administrative and department policies, regulations, and rules to maintain compliance with industry standards
  • Provide appropriate reporting to management regarding work and incident status
  • Identify, investigate, coordinate, and resolve technology problem areas based on reports from internal staff
  • Document current and proposed operations, processes, rules, policies, and standards
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to help meet business objectives
Qualifications Needed:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 1-2 years experience related to customer relations management and/or information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience coordinating and implementing computer and peripheral systems to include planning, specifications development, purchasing, installation, training, troubleshooting, and repair
  • 1-2 years experience providing desktop support in a Macintosh & Windows environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, both as a team leader and a collaborator
  • Novice to intermediate knowledge and skills in computer hardware and software
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Eagerness to grow, quick to learn from mistakes and adapt, and excited to build Vertex into the next big industry disrupter
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization face-to-face, on the telephone, and in writing
  • Advanced certifications in desktop computing, networking, or systems helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of system and device configuration tools helpful but not required
