Job Description:
Vertex Software is actively searching for a JIRA Administrator to help drive the maintenance and expansion of JIRA within Vertex, as well as, solidify our technology organization.  This individual will have experience in administering a JIRA environment, migrating people/projects from other tools to JIRA, customizing the tool to support critical business needs and working on projects to support an ever evolving team.  This person should have strong overall technical skills, excellent customer service skills, and superior organizational and prioritization management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure, manage and support JIRA application and its users
  • Design and support custom JIRA workflows, scripts, fields, dashboards and reports
  • Create, manage & support all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian products. Current platforms utilized: Confluence, Core, Software, Service Desk, Portfolio, UpRaise
  • Build reports & dashboards using advanced JQL
  • Help guide and maintain the organization of data within JIRA
  • Establish and promote best practices for the usage of JIRA
  • Provide technical support & troubleshooting for integrations
  • Accurately record, update, document, and respond to requests using the service desk system
  • Diagnose and resolve incidents with different types of company software, hardware, printers, copiers, and scanners
  • Monitor, manage & support system health & performance and be able to restore service in disaster recovery events
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in software and technology for our industry
  • Providing day to day administration support including performance tuning, scaling, and backups
Qualifications Needed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years experience working with and customizing JIRA
  • 1-2 years experience providing desktop support in a Macintosh & Windows environment
  • Strong understanding of JIRA workflows, permissions, notifications and screen schemes.
  • Demonstrated experience in installing, configuring and administering JIRA on Linux or Windows
  • Experience configuring and maintaining links between JIRA and other applications
  • Certification in Atlassian administration is preferred
  • Previous experience with software issue tracking
  • Excellent verbal & interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong written communication abilities
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficient in the creation of user documentation
  • Experience in a startup environment
