Position Summary:

Join a dynamic creative team developing marketing communications for a leading brand. The Jr. Graphic Designer is responsible for cohesive graphic design solutions (25%) and production (75%) across all touchpoints – including but not limited to print ads, brochures, digital, social media, photography retouching, cropping and formatting. Informed by rigorous branding guidelines, you will also help manage the visual identity of the Pella brand while creating work that informs and engages target audiences across multiple segments. Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited, skilled and imaginative designer with an eye for detail and exceptional communication skills. You’ll work collaboratively with the creative team, media/advertising agency partners, distribution channel partners, Pella’s marketing department personnel and outside suppliers to develop original concepts that result in effective and compelling communication.

 

Essential job duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Creative: Tailor design and layout to various target markets. Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles and an ability to portray a high taste level in all communication arts.

 Detail oriented: An excellent eye for design is required and a thorough understanding of good layouts utilizing typography, photography, charts and graphs. Ability to come up with brand appropriate solutions with input from project stakeholders and Creative Director. 

Self-motivated, well organized and flexible. Able to extract vital information from project briefs and branding guidelines and convert into brand appropriate solu­tions that uphold the look and feel of a modern design brand.

Communication/Project Management Skills: Manage timelines and projects to meet appropriate deadlines. Work with stakeholders to understand objectives and obtain approvals. Assist in the development and implementation of processes to improve content and creative development of all materials. Use internal project management tools to track projects.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or Advertising preferred; 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Abili­ty to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

COMPUTER SKILLS Excellent skill set in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is helpful.
