DES MOINES, Iowa (March 28, 2018) – The third annual Young Entrepreneur Convention is bringing back its wildly popular Elevator Pitch Competition – among the largest in the world – in 2018 and adding a special live recording of the smash hit “Bad Crypto Podcast.” In addition to these two special events, there is a lineup of speakers, networking, exhibits and more.

The Pitch Competition, which is limited to the first 30 participants to sign up, will run throughout the day on April 21, with the final round being held on the main stage at 4:15 p.m. Sign-ups for the pitch competition, which will offer upwards of $50,000 in cash and prizes, begin on April 2. Those who have purchased tickets by that date will have priority in signing up. A waiting list will be compiled once the 30 spots have been filled. All participants in the pitch competition must have a ticket to attend YEC. In just three years, the YEC Pitch Competition has awarded nearly $150,000 in cash and prizes.

The Bad Crypto Podcast will be recorded during the Disruption Break sponsored by ShipChain at 2 p.m. on April 21. Hosted by Joel Comm and Travis Wright, The Bad Crypto Podcast is one of the top cryptocurrency shows in the world.  Heard on iTunes, Stitcher Radio, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Google Play and others, the show has over 500,000 downloads each month.

This year’s event features a two-track format. One track will focus on startups and technology, while the other places an emphasis on branding and marketing. Keynote speakers include angel investor Jason Calacanis, author of “Think and Grow Rich: The Legacy” James Whittaker, among others.

The branding/marketing track will be hosted by Brandon T. Adams, co-founder of the Young Entrepreneur Convention, founder of Live to Grind, and the producer and star of a number of reality shows including Ambitious Adventures, Live to Grind, and Success in Your City. The startup/tech track will be moderated by Ben McDougal, a passionate community builder, a successful entrepreneur and a self-described “nerd you need to know.”
