Iowa Farm Bureau’s statewide development initiative, Renew Rural Iowa (RRIA), has teamed up with the Ag Startup Engine (ASE) at the Iowa State University (ISU) Research Park to bring education, mentoring and financing resources to Iowa entrepreneurs. The announcement comes only a few weeks after a Des Moines-based capital firm, Next Level Ventures, joined the ASE efforts. The engine was started two years ago to address issues in emerging agricultural business, early seed stage development and organized mentorships. “When growing a business, there may come a time when additional expertise is needed. Having the mentoring guidance from each of our partners brings much to our entrepreneurs in their early days,” said Joel Harris, co-director of ASE. “I’m tremendously excited to see what our companies can do when their network broadens thanks to the help from our partners.” The RRIA initiative was started in partnership with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa, Iowa Agriculture Finance Corporation and Central Iowa Power Cooperative. - See more at:
