​Come join us for a day of bikes at Ames Fitness! Ames Velo will be leading cycling activities, including rides and clinics.

10:00 - ~12:00 Group Rides
Wanting to get out on the road, but feel nervous? Think Ames Velo is too fast? Just looking to get in to group rides? We have you covered! Come ride Gravel or Road with us.
Rides will start/finish @ Ames Fitness. 

Gravel - Explore the roads south of the facility with our Ames Velo gravel guru's. If you're new to gravel riding or an expert, come on out and we'll get you on a ride that's best suited for you.

Road - Depending on our attendance, we'll break in to groups and hit some roads near the faciltiy and also head out on to the open roads a bit. If you are new to group riding, we would love to see you! If you are an advanced rider, we can get you in the right group.
Expected distances 25-35 miles. 

Rico's Tacos will be on hand to provide food for sale & drinks from 11:30AM - 1:30PM

12:45 - 1:15 Ames Velo - 2017 Road Race Wrap Up
Come inside Ames Fitness to recognize road racing season accomplishments and learn more about the team. Open Q&A session about the club, rides, or anything else cycling.

1:15 - 1:45 Ames Fitness Tour
Get a look at the array of fitness options available throughout the new Ames Fitness facitly, including the impressive spin room.

1:45 - 2:30 Intro to Cyclocross
Cyclo-what? A mix of cross country running, & off road cycling, this format of cycling is an incredible workout and a lot of fun. Get a chance to see some fundemental things like running barriers, dismounting/mounting, etc.

2:30 - 3:30 Intro to Criterium Racing
If you saw the Main Street Criterium this summer, then you know criteriums are closed circuit, technical road races. What you may not know it that training for these is just another form of high intensity interval training. We'll ride around the Research Park Core Faciltiy (across from Ames Fitness) and go over technical skills and tips. We'll wrap up with a demonstation races for fun.
